Sooryavanshi retreats, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson don’t want this Corona

The not-so-coveted COVID-19 is wreaking havoc and social distancing is the buzzword RN. So, stock up, stay in, stream on. And read on, please.

The world calls quarantine what we, introverts, call a Friday night. But it’s still better to be safe than sorry, right? As the density around most office floors thins out like that at the Congress headquarters, we go to bed with the news of Harvey Weinstein being sentenced to (another) 23 years and wake up to Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson being tested positive of coronavirus. Now Forrest Gump has run through another historical event!

There were plenty of shockers thrown at us this week, TBH. For instance, Milind Soman revealing he was part of the RSS shakha as a young boy. But Milind in shorts, running, doing yoga, now where have we seen that before? Oh, yes. Shivaji Park, Dadar! Or Baaghi 3 minting Rs 90.67 crore in 7 days, despite the corona scare!

But while we Baaghi-ed against coronavirus last week, Veer Sooryavanshi cop is playing retreat, postponing its release date indefinitely. This comes almost simultaneously with Delhi government’s announcement of shutting down theatres, schools and colleges, with Maharashtra following suit, to contain the spread of the not-so-coveted COVID-19. But class is not dismissed for Angrezi Medium, Irrfan will see you today. And on March 31 again, when theatres reopen.

So, social distancing is the buzzword RN. Stock up, stay in, stream on. And the good ol’ OTT can help you there. Karisma Kapoor debuts on Zee5 with Mentalhood while Sumukhi Suresh returns with the second season of Pushpavalli on Amazon Prime Videos. There’s plenty more, scroll down, will you?

Since you’re not stepping out of the house, this is also a good time to reorganise your wardrobe. Put away the winter stuff and get summer-ready. And whenever you get to get out of this quarantine, channel your inner Piku aka Deepika Padukone. We have some tips.

Till then, brew yourself a garma-garam chai ki pyali! And don’t forget to surrrrr on the cup. Aise darr darr ke kya hi jeena?

Coronavirus. We repeat. And we are not sure for how long. There has been absolutely nothing that the world has been discussing at the moment apart from the novel outbreak. The scenario, in fact, has gone from bad to worse, especially after the World Health Organisation declared the outbreak a pandemic on Wednesday. India confirmed its first coronavirus death on Thursday. Markets have crashed. Schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh are closed. Offices are almost empty.
